Gecko 6s – next Sunday!

There’s only one more week to go, so I’m hoping you’re all getting ready for the biggest cricket event of the summer – the Gecko 6s, this year in association with Medical Aid for Sri Lanka (MASL)!

Fast paced, the 6s is a 6-a-side, 5 overs per innings cricket tournament, designed to raise funds for the charities, but as a fun day of gentle competition. If you’re new to Gecko, you can read more on this blog, or visit our Facebook page – Gecko Sri Lanka.

Just to give you a little more information for the day itself: we’ll be setting up nice and early, and registrations for players/teams will begin at 11am. The cut off point for registration will be 11.45am so we really need everyone to arrive as promptly as possible please so we can started with the tournament.

To reiterate, you don’t need to have a complete team to come along, you can join others on the day and we’ll finalise all the teams once we have everyone registered.

Aside from the cricket, there will be also be food and drink available at the ground, and while we’ll give you more information on the day, all the funds raised throughout the day will be going to two fantastic causes – projects in the Malayalapuram Village, and the Gale Orphanage.

Just to help us with preparing for the day, if you haven’t yet replied but are planning to come please do, and vice versa, just to give us an idea of numbers prior to the day.

Thanks everyone, please cross everything you can for the weather, and we hope to see many of you next Sunday!
